I started Tesseract Business in 2022 after twenty years of working for Chicago nonprofits and small businesses, primarily within the performing arts. I consider myself a consummate hustler and have done just about every job there is that facilitates getting art and beauty to the people of this city that I love. Nothing brings me greater joy than solving problems and developing systems that make work easier and more fulfilling for me and my colleagues.
I live in Andersonville with my hilarious husband, Manny Petty, and love vintage style, cooking for friends and family, and playing the piano. I am always happiest when I’m seeing a live performance.

I joined Tesseract Business office in 2025. I’m not originally from Chicago, but after 10 years of living here I am happy to call it my “homebase.” I’ve served in the Arts and Nonprofit sector for over 15 years in various capacities including as a Dancer, Singer, Manager, and Producer. I enjoy puzzles, thinking through problems, and imagining creative solutions. A throughline in the mission of my life and work is helping people achieve their goals.
When I am not working, I love to cook, play games, read (lots of things, but mostly Sci-Fi & Fantasy), spend time in nature (yes, the beach included), listen to music and podcasts, dine out, and spend time with loved ones.

Jeremy Johnson
Financial Solutionist
Hi, my name is Jeremy and it has been a grand adventure finding my way to Tesseract Business. One of my very first jobs was as a night auditor, spending the wee hours of the morning balancing the books for a hotel at the end of each day. From there I found my way into programming project management, until I decided the best way to help people was to become a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, eventually adding in health coaching, and finally finding my place as a Solutionist at Tesseract. The common threads through my entire career have been solving problems, helping people make sense of the world around them, and lowering anxieties to help folks find excitement for the future.

Financial Solutionist
Financial Solutionists are the lifeblood of Tesseract. They help our clients fix and manage their finances through bookkeeping solutions, systems solutions, payroll solutions, reporting solutions…you get the idea.
Financial Specialist
Financial Specialists support the work of our Financial Solutionists. They provide day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and business office management services to our clients.
